U.S. Air National Guard photo by Master Sgt. Christopher Botzum

Col. Howard “Chip” Eissler (right), wing commander for the 111th Fighter Wing and avid hockey fan, attended the Malvern Institute’s ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 6, 2013 in Horsham, Pa. for the opening of their new in-residents drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. It’s important that we’re (the wing) not just in the community, but a integral part of the community, said Eissler. Featured speaker, Bernie Parent, goaltender for the Philadelphia Flyers over the 1974 – 1975 Stanley Cup years, spoke candidly about his struggles with alcohol addiction and life-saving treatment he had received from the regionally-based Malvern organization.
