111th Fighter Wing Outstanding Airmen of the Year for 2008

Senior Master Sergeant James J. Weller
Senior Master Sergeant James J. Weller is a Fighter Aircraft Armament Craftsman
and NCOIC of the Load Standardization Crew in the 111th Aircraft Maintenance
Squadron, 111th Fighter Wing, Pennsylvania Air National Guard, at the Willow
Sergeant Weller has also served with the Civil Air Patrol during his entire military career. He has served as a Search and Rescue Ranger Team Commander, Deputy Commander of Cadets, and Squadron Commander. He has over 100 Air Force Rescue and Coordination Center authorized mission sorties.
His civilian education includes a B.A. in Political Science, summa cum laude,
from Temple University, a Certificate in Accounting from Montgomery County Community
College. He also has two A.A.S. Degrees from CCAF in Criminal Justice and Aircraft Armament Systems.
Technical Sergeant Jeffrey M. Davis
Technical Sergeant Jeffrey M. Davis is a Security Forces Supervisor serving as a
Fire Team Leader and Unit Career Advisor with the 111th Security Forces Squadron,
Pennsylvania Air National Guard, Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. Sergeant Davis was
born in Abington, Pennsylvania. He was raised in Philadelphia, and graduated with
honors from Archbishop Ryan High School in 2002.
After returning from tech school he was immediately called to active duty in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM/ NOBLE EAGLE. He deployed to RAF Akrotiri in 2003 in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM to provide security for high priority aircraft during the early stages of the war in Iraq. In January of 2006, Sergeant Davis was
deployed to Kirkuk Regional Air Base in Northern Iraq to once again support Operation
Sergeant Davis enrolled in courses at Bucks County Community College in the fall of 2003 and earned an Associate of Arts degree in May of 2005 with a 3.5 GPA.
Senior Airman George Beane
Senior Airman George Beane is an Aircraft Maintenance Technician assigned
to the 111th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Pennsylvania Air National Guard, Willow
Grove, Pennsylvania. Airman Beane attended Solanco High School in Southern Lancaster, Pa. and graduated in 2005.
In June 2008, he deployed for AEF 3/4 to Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and
stayed at Bagram AB, Afghanistan for two consecutive tours.
Airman Beane continually strives for self improvement attaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering at Penn State University, and maintaining a 3.1 grade point average.
