BIDDLE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Pa- Twenty-Five years ago, on Sept. 11, 2001, what began as a calm, clear morning at the 111th Fighter Wing became a day that changed the course of history.
Airmen assigned to the 111th Attack Wing’s 201st RED HORSE Squadron, Detachment 1, put their skills to work during an eight-week paving project at Tobyhanna Army Depot, gaining valuable hands-on training while helping improve infrastructure at the installation.
For the 270th EIS Airmen, the exercise provided an opportunity to employ a specialized radio direction-finding capability within the squadron’s broader engineering and installation mission.
