REAL ID Required for Base Access Beginning May 7

Starting May 7, Biddle Air National Guard Base will only accept REAL ID-compliant identification to access the installation, in compliance with the REAL ID Act. As a result of the REAL ID Act’s implementation, individuals attempting to enter Biddle Air National Guard Base on or after May 7, 2025, will be required to present one of the following:

  • Current military ID card (including active, retired, dependent)
  • REAL ID driver’s license (offered by Department of Motor Vehicles)
  • Current standard driver’s license or identification card with at least one of the following acceptable supporting documents:
    • Current U.S. passport
    • Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
    • Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC)
    • Birth certificate
    • Social security card

Personnel and visitors subject to these requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Contractors/ vendors
  • Family members who do not possess a dependent military ID
  • Service providers
  • Delivery drivers
  • Prospective recruits
  • Visitors (including visitors in the same vehicle with a CAC holder)
  • Transportation services (taxi, Uber)

A REAL ID-compliant license can be obtained at a driver’s license agency with the following documents:

  • Proof of identity (e.g., birth certificate, passport)
  • Proof of social security number (e.g., social security card)
  • Two proofs of residency (e.g., utility bills, bank statements)

The REAL ID Act, passed by Congress in 2005, establishes minimum security standards for state-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards.
