Senior Master Sgt. Kevin Ahearn, of Team Hot Pink, is cheered on by his teammates during the pie eating contest as part of Sports Day 2011. Sports Day is an event where wing members compete in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities which test their cognitive skills and showcase their athletic abilities. The morning began with members being divided up into 25 teams, but by sunset only one team remained. Team Black defeated a valiant Team Yellow Jun. 5, 2011 to win the championship. Established in October of 2007, Sports Day was created to bring the unit together after several deployments and the hot summer which took place that year. The goal is to foster camaraderie, have fun, and work together as a team.
