Narrow roadways and parked vehicles created an obstacle course for 201st RED HORSE Squadron heavy equipment operators tasked to remove debris Sept. 12-16, 2011 in the Harrisburg area. Members helped with flood cleanup after a hurricane and tropical storm wreaked havoc on the tristate area. Working in narrow confines, they hand-loaded the debris into buckets. The 201st RED HORSE Squadron, Detachment 1 activated 44 members to assist state and local authorities with clean-up efforts after the onslaught of devastating rains brought on by Hurricane Irene and remnants of Tropical Storm Lee. The series of storms substantially impacted the central region of Pennsylvania.
