Base Civil Engineering spearheads snow removal plan, keeps base rolling
HORSHAM AIR GUARD STATION, Pa. -- The 111th Attack Wing’s Snow Removal Team, led by Chief Master Sgt. Christian Haas, superintendent of the Horsham Air Guard Station’s Civil Engineering in Horsham, Pennsylvania here started early in the morning on Jan. 23, 2016 to clear what would prove to be the fourth largest snowfall to hit the base. Slowly escalating to a six-man team into Sunday morning, plows, blowers, Bobcat shovels would be their weapons of choice to clear the base roads and parking lots of the pending 22 inches of snow that would promise to choke vital base operations. Working throughout the weekend and into Monday morning, now aligned with members of the 201st RED HORSE, Detachment 1 here, the status of the base for arriving members revealed the base was under normal operating conditions. Their efforts reflected a true testament to the hard work and spirit of mission first attitude. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Master Sgt. Christopher Botzum)
